This is exciting news for consumers and for our company. Many clients have shared their stories of desperation only to be taken advantage of financially by predatory settlement companies. That is where Springboard is set apart! We are the consumer's advocate and best of all nonprofits!

Thank you Melinda, Sean and Sergio for the information where to get help and also how to prevent being a loan fraud victim. Unfortunately it happens to more people than we think. Hopefully this information will prevent at least one person from becoming a victim.

I think this article is very good. It provides some good practical advice. In this uncertain economic time it is so important to make your money stretch as far as you can. It gives you a reason to dig deep into your closets and drawers and possibly find a whole new wardrobe you had forgotten all about.

I believe that saving money is a great thing. Making your own lunch, and cleaning the house with supplies from home is also a great way to saving money. All the litle things you do will be worth it in the end. :)

Thank you for this information. I knew that free credit reports were available, but didn't realize that we can actually get additional reports under special circumstances. I'm also going to take Brian's advice and order a credit report from each bureau every four months.

This article gives the consumer the break down of how the fico score is calculated, rather then just giving the score without knowing what it is based on. I think this information about your score, credit card debt, learning about a financial budget and saving should be a requirement in school.

Use Cash!!
Take out enough cash to last one week at a time. Make up your mind that the cash you have is all you get for discretionary expenses, or things that you could live without, each week. It's much easier to turn down a $60 pair of shoes when it will take the last of your week's cash than it is when you just have to swipe a credit card.

This is a great one cause college kids tend to trust everyone. They really don't look out for themselves and leave stuff lying around. I agree with Caludia as far as having an alert put on your credit and even debt cards and bank accounts. Meaning that if there are any unauthorize activity on the account at a certain amount it should put up a red flag. I have it on my bank accounts and it really does help especially when your balance goes to a certain amount it tells you so you don't over draft.
