Where to File Credit Card Complaints Online

We recently wrote about the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, which includes new provisions to ensure that consumers will get access to their credit scores if they are denied credit or suffer other adverse affects due to their credit rating.

The Dodd-Frank Act also created the “Consumer Financial Protection Bureau,” a new agency with sweeping powers to regulate the financial sector and enforce various consumer protection provisions of law. One of the responsibilities of the CFPB is to help consumers file complaints regarding the financial services they use, including credit cards.

The CFPB also requires financial institutions to respond when consumers file complaints.

Where to file:

You may file a complaint to the CFPB at their website, www.consumerfinance.gov. On the homepage you will find a link to a form that allows consumers to submit complaints about their credit cards.
