Join us in Celebrating America Saves Week

For the past 15 years, organizations like credit.org have participated in America Saves Week annually. America Saves is a movement that encourages fiscal responsibility, saving, and financial literacy. This event typically happens early in the year; this year’s annual saves week takes place from February 21-25, 2022.

At credit.org, we’re an active partner with America Saves, sponsoring our own San Diego Saves and Inland Empire Saves campaigns. But we’re not alone. Last year, over 1,300 organizations participated, supporting 1.2 million Americans as they made a commitment to become better savers. America Saves reports that $363.8 million dollars were deposited in bank and credit union accounts due to last year’s celebration.

Saving is Crucial

We know life is complicated, and people have many demands on their time and attention, so we support this effort to set aside five days to really focus on personal finance and kick-start the savings habit for the new year.

By spending a little time each day thinking about various topics around saving and personal finance, participants will end the week with a fresh perspective on saving for emergencies, short- and long-term savings goals, savings strategies, saving for retirement, reducing debt, and saving together as a family.

Thousands of organizations nationally are actively participating to help people set goals and save, offering free resources and education in support of this mission.

How to Participate

Visit any America Saves campaign page, like our own San Diego Saves or Inland Empire Saves, and “Pledge” to save. There, you can also sign up for text message reminders and tips to help you stay on track.

We’ll be posting educational material every day in support of America Saves Week; on our blog, Twitter and on Facebook. Of course, financial literacy is what we’re all about every day of the year, so savers can always check out our educational downloads and courses. Like everything on offer from America Saves, these resources are entirely free.

With so many people still reeling from the financial impact of recent economic events, America Saves Week 2022 has one single focus: Building Financial Resilience. Join us online this year and let’s work together to assess our finances, create a plan, and save for a better future.

If you need personal help from a financial coach, credit.org is standing by, we’ve got free counseling designed to help you create a budget you can live with and pay off the debts that are getting in the way of your ability to save.

Credit.org is a proud participant of America Saves Week – a campaign coordinated by the nonprofit Consumer Federation of America (CFA), dedicated to helping individuals save money, reduce debt, and build wealth.

Starting February 21st and ending February 25th,  join us as we celebrate 2022 America Saves Week.
