Credit.org was founded in 1974 with a mission dedicated to strengthening and improving the lives and financial well-being of individuals and families by offering counseling and coaching that promote financial wellness, sustainable housing and a healthy economy. Credit.org receives funding by donations and grants from various sources such as mortgage lenders and servicers, government agencies and other non-profit organizations. Although the majority of our services are free, some counseling requires a nominal fee however such fees may be reduced or waived depending on hardship.
