



Melinda Opperman is a dedicated financial educator who has been serving communities through Credit.org since 2003. With more than 20 years of experience in financial counseling and education, she has become a recognized leader in financial literacy.Melinda has been featured as a financial expert in major media outlets including CNNMoney, NBC’s Money Matters, National Public Radio, The Wall Street Journal, The Economist, and Money Magazine, among many others.She holds a Bachelor of Science with honors from California State University, Northridge, and is a certified Consumer Credit Counselor through the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC). In 2008, she received the NFCC’s Outstanding Educator of the Year Award as part of the Professional Achievement and Counseling Excellence (PACE) Awards. This national recognition honors her commitment to community advocacy, ethical leadership, and innovation in motivating consumers toward financial success. As Managing Editor of Credit.org’s Consumer Guide to Good Credit, Melinda oversees a comprehensive financial education curriculum. This free e-book provides practical, do-it-yourself guidance on managing credit, lowering interest and fees, improving loan and mortgage outcomes, and building long-term financial stability and generational wealth.
